Something to ponder #1: What is repentance?

What is Biblical repentance? Is there more than one type of repentance found in Scripture? Is there a difference between the repentance seen in the Old Testament (national repentance for example) and repentance seen in the New Testament?

A basic understanding of repentance (Biblical repentance) is one of the foundation of doctrine upon which many other things we believe will stand or fall.
