Really need encouragement regarding prayer

FeetBreeze,

Prayer is always our first reponse, because it's a Spiritual Battle.   I've learned that one of the best things to do is ask God where He is already working.  Also ask Him to soften hearts so that they will be ready to hear the gospel to be saved.  Even then, we often get discouraged because things are just not happening fast enough for us.

With all of our hopes and best intentions, things can turn very ugly if the person is not open to hearing the message.

 

see Matthew 7:6.  This refers to those who hate the truth.

"Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or
they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.

 

I encourage you to be confident that God desires for all to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth...  but we can't save anyone. 

If you are praying, God is answering that prayer. 

It's in His timing not our own.

 

Be careful of falling into the trap of wanting family members to be saved because you think your life will be easier if they are.  (I'm speaking from personal experience)

Ask God to show you your motivations for wanting them to be saved.
