Can you elaborate a little more on what you are wanting to know and why you are asking it?

Lord Bless,

From the original crew or what?

Hi Jewel....are you still there?

I find your question fascinating.

So, here's my take on it:

Exodus 12:37, "Now the sons of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand men on foot, aside from children". (N.A.S.B.).

Sometimes in the Bible, the word "men" means people. The application - "aside from children" lends to that usage here.

My guess is that about one to two million Israelites exited Egypt.

I Corinthians 10:5 tells us, "Nevertheless, with most of them God was not well-pleased; for they were laid low in the wilderness". (Boldness added). The next six verses describe what He laid on them. I can count 38,ooo died, not counting the "some of them" entries. I'm going to estimate 75,000 died. He was probably not well-pleased with 5/6 of the total crew.

At the Jordan River 2 out of 12 tribes were faithful (1/6).

Add 40 years of wandering, and children growing from the other 10 tribes........

I'm thinking, I'm thinking.........and guessing......about 2 million total people (maybe).

Open for discussion and/or debate.

Grace and Peace.
