All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

I understand that the idea of change tends to cause stress for numerous people. What I would like to do is first say at this stage that we really are not making changes, but adding options. Some will not be interested in or capable of engaging in Hangout on air meetings. That is OK. To my knowledge all of the current functions on TheNET will remain the same for you to be able to uses as before.

So again to ease some of the concern I again would like to say that I hope you view these additions as opportunities and options, but what you have come to enjoy here on TheNET should still be there for the foreseeable future. There will be no pressure placed on you to engage in the other ... not my style.

Hope that helps :-)

Lord Bless,

LT

The hangouts that will be possible through Google+ will be a nice addition and will aid in fellowship aspects among the community, as well as help people on the site grow closer to God, individually and collectively, through prayer, bible study, and worship. I think it will help people grow closer to one another, too, by gathering and participating in them, just as much as gathering in a building, all under the same roof, IMO. I understand many of the misgivings people may have about the meetings. Each must seek God's will, individually, in the matter.

Greetings AAG Family,

Along with what Amanda has stated, as we prepare for the addition of Hangouts which will allow up to 10 people to  enter into a live streaming video chat I want to give a little more food for thought.

This tool, as previously stated, is an addition to our current options here on TheNET. We believe that over time this new tool will enhance this ministry and be used of the Lord to further His work. Some of the possibilities for using this tool are Bible study/discussion (basically a live forum), prayer meeting, women’s or men’s gathering for …, training leaders, just a space to hang out with Christian friends, and the list goes on.

There is an opportunity available to our membership to take training on how all this works. The cost has been dramatically cut for our site and is highly encouraged. This course is designed to help the technology fade into the background and allow us to use this tool with eases and accomplish the real purpose … connecting and utilizing it as mentioned above. For more info on the course click on All About Hangouts

Some on our leadership team are in the process of getting familiar with this tool so we can roll this out and start using it as soon as possible. You will also see in the days ahead an opportunity for you to join in one designed specifically for our community to come to experience and ask questions.

There are some basic requirements. You have to have a Google+ account. This is the only way to access the Hangout. It is great if you have a webcam, but not absolutely necessary. If your computer has a microphone you will be able to engage in the conversation, but will miss the visuals.

I am excited about this as two of my passions are small groups and training leaders. I believe this tool will enable us to do both and much more!!!

Lord Bless,

I so wish I wasn't such a coward. It would be awesome to listen and to see the love of Jesus in yalls voice and faces.  I think this new thing that will be happening here on AAG is going to help a lot of folks, especially those who ,like me, don't  or cant get out  much.

We will give it some time, pray and trust that the Lord gives you the freedom to join in. You may even choose to come and listen to start with without commenting and with the camera off. Then over time ... well ... We trust you will feel comfortable. With that said I can assure you that you will not be pressured in anyway by me.

Lord Bless,

LT

I never knew that the camera could be shut off. I am teased here at home because I have thick papers folded and taped plastered all over it over the camera eye all of the time.  My phobias have worsened over the past year.

I look forward to hearing/reading about yalls first hangout. I wish it could be recorded and shared with us. But, I understand that you may not like that. I know I wouldn't. Happy meet ups to yall.

I know a fair amount of people who tape up their web camera.  They just feel a certain amount of comfort that way...there's nothing wrong with that.

I agree with Carla.

Oh Janie, I hope you do come....at any point!  Guess what, I do the same thing!!!  My son makes fun of me all the time...I'll take it off for tonight, but I get it, really I do Janie.

I've thought about how many times I wished I were your next door neighbor, but this might be an avenue in which a few of us girls could get together maybe once a week to study, learn, and chat together. :)

I'm just worried about the background....lol  my house is a mess!  And I've only just gotten home from work.

I love you Janie, take your time and keep praying about it.  I would love to visit with you sometime, I had just as many reservations as you probably have going on.  I am very limited in my dealings on line....but that's just me.  I prefer the face to face dealings, which is why I'm so very EXCITED about tonight!  Just meeting each other is such a huge blessing for me.

Janie, I don't want to pressure you... It would be wonderful for you to join us as LT says with the camera off, and voice muted.  There are so many possibilities of variation and different ways to join us.  You could even join us over the phone, and just not say anything, but listen in.  OH Boy!  We'd sure love to have you with us.  (but no pressure, just HOPE that you'll think about it)

Love you, Carla

I didn't know a person could listen in and mute the voice either. How can that happen? I have video chatted with family before but I didn't know my voice could be muted. I have turned down sound thinking they couldn't hear me cough , but it just made it to where I couldn't hear them. Anyway, I hope yall share about how yalls meeting went . :-)

Hey Janie..  You just press the mute button.. I can't recall exactly where that is since the screen is not in front of me at the moment... We're meeting tonight if you want to try.  Let LT know so he can send you an invite if you decide to come.  :-)

If you choose to join in I will guide you to turn off the camera and mute the sound.
