Ok ,here is the scripture:
2 Corinthians 6:14-15
Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What accordhas Christ with belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever
If we have a friend or someone in our lives who is an unbeliever are we not to sit with them ? Is there not the same hope for them as there is for us and how are we to show the light of Jesus if we keeo them out of our lives without having them think we think we are better than them? Would that not deter them from wanting what we have in Christ?
Thankyou David. The reason I brought this up is because I do have some friends who are unbelievers while others believe but really do not have a relationship with our Father or practice. And apply that belief. They know I am saved and Born again in Christ so they just respect that and I in turn act accordingly I have found in my walk with God that at times it is actually good exercise for my faith and building of a Godly character to stay strong in Him while planting seeds of hope (without preaching) to them. Yes I believe we are sometimes at risk of being drawn into sin by a friend who does not respect ones belief but then again that is where choosing our friends wisely comes into play and being strong in the Lord can become stronger. Does. That make sense? I have noticed that in the first year of my new found faith,it was much easier to slip into sin than it is now. Albeit none of us is infallable no not one. The closer our relationship with God we do become stronger as we go along and are less likely to fall into our worldly friends ways.
Thankyou for this comment David. It really clarifies the answer and I think I may have clarified the reason for my question....... I think! Haha
