"Let the children come to Me."

Have you ever been in this situation? Wanting to receive a Blessing from The Lord, and someone stood in the way. They said something that made you feel dumb, or unworthy. Has anyone gone through this? Has someone said or done something to discourage you from receiving a blessing; asking a question, or just stood between you and The Lord? If so, what did you do? When this story took place, did some of those parents leave?
13 One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so He could touch and bless them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering Him. 14 When Jesus saw what was happening, He was angry with His disciples. He said to them, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. 15 I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn't receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.” 16 Then He took the children in His arms and placed His Hands on their heads and blessed them Mark 10:13-16

I have always Loved this story. I can just see, Our Lord's eyes as He looked at the actions of His disciplines. As He observed those parents, He could see their Faith in Him, with their Hopes for their children, also in Him. Then as He gazed at the children. I can see a big smile on His Face, and the Joy in His eyes.

His disciples thought they were helping Him, by protecting Him from those kids. I believe Our Lord only saw them standing in the way. Of course, He was able to Teach them and us, some Understanding about how our hearts. And, how we must see ourselves, humble; open; believing with trust, on and on the list can go. Please share your thoughts.

Hi Chris I know exactly what you are saying. I remember in my early years everything was so exciting and of course I would have to talk about it. Those so called mature Christians would give that look of oh no not again or they would hang in there not hearing a thing I said. And to many times I was told God doesn't work that way.

How did I handle it well with great discouragement and a ton of pray asking The Lord what I was doing wrong.

Over the years The Lord answered in a variety of ways. One of the most exciting ways He has answered is a men's breakfast we have. Doing this breakfast a group of men from several denomiations and on occasion non churched men join to talk about life and all those little ways in which The Lord has blessed us. All those insignificant things the Lord is doing in our lives. Praise and worship grown men rejoiceing in everday life. In all The Lord has done is doing and will do.

"Let the children come to Me."
