Young Samuel heard the Lord call his name. Eli perceived that it was the Lord calling to him. 1 Samuel 3:1-20 might be helpful.

"Speak, for your servant is listening" (1 Samuel 3:10); "I will listen to what God the Lord will say: he promises peace to his people, his saints" (Psalm 85:8); "Two things have I heard: that you, O God, are strong, and that you, O Lord, are loving" (Psalm 62:11,12).

Seek him with your whole heart....

He will reveal what he is desiring to say.....

He will show you what he wants for you to do or say.....

Father God, I pray that this your servant will be able to clearly hear what you are saying to him/her ? in this day and hour, in which we live. Lord, I silence all other voices, that he/she may not be deceived in any way, but, that you and only you....will come thru loud and clear, and I pray for a willing heart, and an open mind, that will be able to receive what you are desiring to bring forth. We give you praise, that you receive us, on the merits of what Jesus has done on the cross. Amen.
