I do want to say welcome to the family brother Jim. It's a great blessing that you've come into the family of God. I've read several of your posts where you were once Catholic. That in itself is tough to remove yourself from. I'll definitely return & try to help you with some questions you have as I'm sure others will as well. I just wanted to welcome you at this time.

Thank you Tammy.

Welcome Jim,

Yes, you are a living soul.  The flesh body you are in right now is not your eternal body.  When this flesh body dies, your soul (you) will continue to live.  It will either live with Christ in Heaven, or in Hell with Satan.  You will be aware and be able to feel joy, comfort, and love if you go to Heaven, or fear, pain, and misery if you go to Hell.  This is illustrated by Jesus in his parable in Luke 16:19-31.

I don't want to start an argument. But I read in the bible and looked it up on the internet also. And it says the soul is actually the living body man or animal. God told Adam and Eve there punishment was death. That Adam was made from the dirt and dirt he shall return. Life seist to exsist. Meaning you have no memory, pain or thoughts. No one is in. Heaven yet. Until judgement day there is no hell. There will be two heavens one on earth and one with God. The people who are undeserving of heaven will just stay dead.

Joh 5:28-29 NIV84 "Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice (29) and come out—those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned.

Rev 6:8-11 NIV84 I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth. (9) When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained. (10) They called out in a loud voice, "How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?" (11) Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and brothers who were to be killed as they had been was completed.

2Co_12:2  I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven. Whether it was in the body or out of the body I do not know—God knows.

Php 1:21-24 NIV84 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. (22) If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! (23) I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; (24) but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body.

Luk 16:19-31 NIV84 "There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. (20) At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores (21) and longing to eat what fell from the rich man's table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores. (22) "The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried. (23) In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. (24) So he called to him, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.' (25) "But Abraham replied, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. (26) And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.' (27) "He answered, 'Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my father's house, (28) for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.' (29) "Abraham replied, 'They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.' (30) "'No, father Abraham,' he said, 'but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.' (31) "He said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.'"
