Hi 4 God bless you! Well you could look at it that once you crash you can now go up from here. You're making a climb upward from here. Keep looking for open doors and windows. You can get frustrated because they aren't opening, or you can think well that wasn't the way to go. God knows you're frustrated, and maybe He's saving you some heartache. You have children. God could be watching out for all of you more than you know. There's reasons why some doors and windows just never open. We should be thankful to our Lord they don't open and don't try to figure out what's on the other side. Like look through the window pane and see if it's something God should have opened.
It's a good idea to seek out counseling. Sorting out feelings can be difficult so it's good to have help. You aren't alone. Okay? Making the climb will take more work. I think you're up to it. :-) Lots of prayers and determination. I'll be praying for you and your kids.
Love,
Mary
Your reply blessed me Matthew. :-) It's interesting you bring up about everyone's experience with God is unique and different. When I first accepted Jesus as my Lord, Gary and I were surrounded by bikers I mean like the notorious motorcycle kind of people riding the really big bikes. (name of gang withheld) God can work with a lot of people and convict a lot of hearts if you will let him. I was never a member and neither was Gary. It's just those were the people that God led us to and they showed up at church. Jesus can make even a tough biker cry and repent. So don't give up on anyone. God gives the increase. We must never forget that.
Love,
Mary
God can work with you and reach out to you. I would have never thought they'd accept Jesus. It's amazing what God can do who He will choose. Sometimes it's not what we thought at all. Don't surrender to that old icky spiritual realm out there. Our God's a lot bigger and better. Put your trust in Him. Whatever help you need, take it. He can use it to make you stronger.
Love,
Mary
I have one thing to say and I must go to work. Well maybe a couple!
We are the product of our choices, i.e. faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God, we don’t read the Word, guess what? No faith.
We can chose to read the Word, but we must also believe what it says.
Pray and read the scriptures and ask god to send his wisdom.
Jesus has been made unto us Wisdom; 1Cor.1:30, we need to believe that He has given to us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him. 2Pet.1:1-4

Hi 4Mom,
Welcome to AAG. God wants the best for each one of us. We don't really know what's best for us, especially as we battle the flesh. Every part of us wants to resist what God wants for us....it's our 'fallen' state of being.
But we must remember that once we become 'born again' we are new creations. For anyone who is 'In Christ', the 'old has gone, and the new has come'. 2 Cor 5:17
So.. What is God's purpose for our lives?
1) That we will know His Son. Jesus our Lord and Saviour. 1 Tim 2:3,4
3 This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the [c]knowledge of the truth.
2) That we will be His disciples. This means to be students of Him, or a personal follower of His. The outcome is that we will become more and more like Jesus. One of the reasons Jesus came to earth was to show us how to live. His life shows us how. The Holy Spirit empowers us because we can't do it in our own strength.
The word 'follow' is akoloutheō
ak-ol-oo-theh'-o
From G1 (as a particle of union) and κέλευθος keleuthos (a road); properly to be in the same way with, that is, to accompany (specifically as a disciple): - follow, reach.
Luke 9:23
23 And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.
3) That we will be holy and blameless before Him and to glorify Him.
Isaiah 43:7New American Standard Bible (NASB)
7 Everyone who is called by My name,
And whom I have created for My glory,
Whom I have formed, even whom I have made.”
and Ephesians chapter 1....."3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before [d]Him. In love 5 [e]He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the [f]kind intention of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. 7 In [g]Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace 8 which He [h]lavished on [i]us. In all wisdom and insight 9 He [j]made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His [k]kind intention which He purposed in Him 10 with a view to an administration [l]suitable to the fullness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things [m]in the heavens and things on the earth. In Him 11 [n]also we [o]have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will, 12 to the end that we who were the first to hope in [p]Christ would be to the praise of His glory."
In your present circumstances, God wants you to
1) know Jesus.
2) Learn from Him as a disciple to become more like Him. and
3) Be holy and blameless before Him and Glorify Him.
The next question is 'how'? :-)
I am finding a few things to be helpful...
~Christian fellowship and accountability. We're all learning...all the time.
~bible study. If you want to become more like Jesus, you're (we're) going to have to learn what He teaches.
~serving...a great way to put these teachings into practice.
~attend church to be fed and supported in all ways.
~pray...at all times for everything.
Our lives can sometimes feel like a bit of a rollercoaster. When you are living His purpose for your life you will experience a peace which surpasses all human understanding, and through that you will become more like HIM, and you will Glorify HIM in that.
Some prayers are really short and to the point, such as "GOD, I NEED YOU... Teach me, guide me, and give me your peace"
Matthew 5:3 says:
3 “[b]Blessed are the [c]poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. NASB
I like the way the NLT words this verse. It says:
3 “God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him,[a]
for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs."
Cry out to Him as you realize your need for Him, and He will take care of the rest.
Be obedient (me too... as I type this I'm sending a reminder to myself).
Blessings, Carla
Two points I would make:
1) God is for you and is not against you ... He wants you!
2) God's purpose (or will) is present tense. His plan is another story, but His will for you is to live for Him now ... this moment. You cannot change yesterday, you can only repent (if needed) for the past errors. Once repented of He has forgotten it and we can then leave for Him now in the freshness of life. We need not be troubled about tomorrow for it is not here yet and none of us are guaranteed a tomorrow, but we do have NOW.
Thus, seek to walk humbly before Him and desire to live for Him now and seek to practice that as you take each new step in the now moment. If you do that you will watch His plan for your life unfold before you day-after-day.
Hope that helps some.
Lord Bless,
LT
