How do you know the difference between a prophet and someone who God uses prophetically

Also if you asked someone if they were a prophet would believe them. and if you were that person who claimed to be a prophet what would you say to me (the person/people asking). Also is it true that the prophetic is the hardest to understand of all the gift? Do you believe in modern day prophet? And also for those who don't believe in prophets, why?

It's not what I'd say. I'd watch your actions and listen to your words. Are you doing or obeying the Word of God. The words that you say, do they flow with God's Word or contradict it? You have to ask yourself, who gets the glory? Is the person glorified? Does everyone think the person is really awesome? Or is God getting the glory? Sometimes you have to watch and observe for a while. People expect prophets to be so dynamic, but they can have a quiet demeanor and you'd never guess. You don't have to be dynamic to speak for God. Our God is the one who is dynamic and awesome. He is the one who backs up what is spoken not the other way around. Our God is big enough to prove Himself.
