Ok,the JWs say the Holy Spirit isn't a person because He doesn't have a name.
They say the Father=Jehovah, the Son=Jesus [or sadly they say He is Michael] but they say since the Holy Spirit doesn't have a name He isn't a person.
How do I answer that rebuttle?

Personally, I wouldn't try to rebut it because there really is no need. They don't have the foundations correct so the rest is just babble.
Yes, and their goal is not to hear you, but to confuse you and ensnare you in their teaching. Take note that they always travel in a team of at least two. One is the elder and the other usually newer and being trained. The elder will quickly get them out of there as soon as they see the discussion starting to have an affect on their younger member.
Wow! I wondered why they left my home the way they did. I had two at my a few years ago and by the end of the conversation they left and asked if they could come back. I told them yes, but they never came back. My oldest grandsons mother is a JW and she and I sent text messages back and forth for about three weeks. She finally told me that I was Satan's daughter and she stopped speaking with me. I told her that I am so thankful that Jesus never gave up on me. It's really sad how blinded one can become to all of this stuff.
Feet,
Jesus referred to the Holy Spirit as a living being in several places. Here is one:
Joh 16:1-15 NIV84 "All this I have told you so that you will not go astray. (2) They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering a service to God. (3) They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me. (4) I have told you this, so that when the time comes you will remember that I warned you. I did not tell you this at first because I was with you. (5) "Now I am going to him who sent me, yet none of you asks me, 'Where are you going?' (6) Because I have said these things, you are filled with grief. (7) But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. (8) When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment: (9) in regard to sin, because men do not believe in me; (10) in regard to righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; (11) and in regard to judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned. (12) "I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. (13) But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. (14) He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you. (15) All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you.
Lord Bless,
LT
LT,I know that is their goal. What makes this really difficult if you give an answer they will just parrot off another rebuttle given by the WT Society. They are literaly not allowed to think for themselves. And no I'm not being mean. The WT has even greatly discourged independent thinking. The elder doesn't come around anymore. His wife has put WTs over the gate. I don't know when she will come with a friend [always another female]. I actually haven't seen her for a long time. I know mom talked to her in Aug. Not sure if she put WTs over the gate in Sept. but I know she put them over the gate this month.
Tammy. I have to try to find rebuttles to their answers that are supplied by the WT Society. This is the last one I'm currently having trouble with. I have trouble expressing myself so I need the Holy Spirit to help me be able to do that. I can get the answers but I need His help expressing and putting them in the right words.
Grazer, you're right. And the thing is most angels weren't given names in the Bible and aborted babies don't have names. Does that mean they weren't/aren't persons? Well, angels aren't people but you know what I mean. You know what? I think I'm starting to understand. Praise God!
And thank you,LT. You just reminded me how much I really need to rely on the Holy Spirit. After all like it said in those scriptures you shared,He is the Counsler. And I know only He can convict them of their sin. Thanks. ^_^
I would suggest you stay deep in prayer as well as putting on the armor of God always. I know you have these JW's in your family & that is a hard pill to swallow. I would just live the truth in front of them & when the Spirit tells you to speak, you do so. He will take care of the rest. He will bless your obedience & many things can be said without saying a word. Continue seeking him through this journey & continue leaning on your faith in Him that He will say what needs to be said.
The confusing part is my parents aren't JWs. My dad never studied with them [atleast as long as I've been alive, not sure if he studied with them before I was born] yet shares in a couple of their beliefs. He thinks only 144,000 go to Heaven and that the Holy Spirit is an active force.
Mom isn't a JW. Yet she shares in half of their beliefs. She leans more theological but not side issues. She is against shunning. What is very confusing is before she has seemed like she was against their blood policy. Yet one time I think she defended it. Well, not exactly defend but it was close by saying "But the JWs said..." By how she put what she said it sounded like she was kind of defending it but now coming out right and doing it.
Mom said a few times that they're too strict, she'll never join. Yet a long time ago she said they're God's people. And I tried telling her something a long time back but she just said "They're lieing on God's people." I forget what I was trying to tell her. I just know that showed me it's hard to show her anything to disprove the WT Society because I may get acused of lieing or persecuting them. And a month or two ago it sounded like she was in favor of the JWs when positively talking about a story she was told about them.
Dad has said the Bible has been corrupted by man. Mom has said the Bible is God’s Word. Yet she has also said the Bible is man made because “God didn’t come down and write it.” Yet I remember a long time ago she heard someone on t.v. talk about Jesus being God. She said something and I told her “It’s in the Bible”. She told me “The Bible is wrong than.” I told her that “It was in the JW Bible.” [it is,Heb. chapter 1 and Thommas called Jesus his Lord and God in I think ether Luke or John]. Mom told me “That [the JW Bible] is wrong, too.”
As you can see why I'm very confused.
Thank you. I know I really need to be in prayer. The Holy Spirit will help me.
And you definitely have my prayers sis. I know this is a tough road but the Lord will one day reveal Himself thru ur faithfulness. You keep howing that row. He will reveal Himself thru ur faithfulness. He loves you & we love you as well & know our prayers have your back.
Thank you very much. :hugs: It's really appreciated.
