I recently took on a new client, and we really clicked... We started to become really close friends and he asked me out...I had to decline even though I really liked him bc he is not a christain and I don't want to be unequally yoked with someone... I felt so bad after I told him I didn't want to date bc I felt like I led him on... So I recently told him sorry for leading him on and not considering how he felt... Which i thought would give us both closure in everything but it didn't and I never should have brought the topic up again at all!
I really want the chance to be a good Christian friend to him and most of all I want him to come to know Jesus
Any advice on how I should proceed or act with him would be greatly appreciated! I feel terrible that I got myself in this situation, and wish I would have acted differently!
... Please pray for wisdom for me in this situation as he is my client and friend... And most of all please pray for his salvation

Is it the kind of client relationship that will end in a few months or is it ongoing? I'm just kind of thinking it out with you. I hope you don't mind. Please don't fret because you have feelings.
So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:1)
There are lots of Christians around. I don't think God would limit Himself in such a way that the only way your client and friend would hear about Jesus is through you. Is there another person in your church who can shepherd your friend? I've had men from fellowship call and ask me to shepherd new persons. The relationship was just getting a little too close. I know you want to be straight forward with him, and not mess with his feelings and heart. Can you invite him to a group fellowship? Straight forward, it's not a date, just friends. Can some of the men Christian persons you know invite him to watch a baseball game or something?
I've planted seeds before and a few months later the person would come to church.
I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth. (1 Corinthians 3:6)
We plant and water. God gives the increase.
My guess is he sees the Christ in you. Somehow you are different.
Love and God bless,
Mary
Thank you so much for your response and for thinking it out with me Mary! It is an ongoing client relationship. There are others in my church who can shepherd him and I am definitely going to ask them to reach out. Inviting him to a group fellowship is a great idea too. Thank you so much for your encouragement and the verses. I love this and it was very encouraging to me..."we plant and water and God gives the increase."
Thank you so much and God Bless!
Natashca,
Great advice from Mary. Trust God to lead you in this. He just might have a plan. Take a peak at the story of Esther. Your heart seems strong and true to God. He will lead you.
Thank you Roy! I really want to live my life to glorify God! And I will definitely read in Esther.
