The first question that needs to be asked of you is whether you have truly given your heart to Jesus or only responded to Him intellectually. I would encourage starting with this question seeking to be sure of your salvation. The following link should help you. Once you have read through it, let me know where you stand or if you have questions. From there we can then take steps according to your greatest need.

Hey Jennifer,
I found myself asking the exact same question about two weeks ago. I felt happiest and most comfortable when God was on my mind. It was amazing how worries, anxieties, and day-to-day struggles faded into the background as God became my main focal point. I asked myself, "How can I feel this way all the time?" "Is there a way to keep God on my conscious thought for the majority of my day?" I started setting time to devote to God. I began reading forums on this site, started reading the Bible (Which I hadn't really before), and kept an ongoing conversation with God throughout the day. It was amazing! The more I immersed myself, the more I found myself thinking of God more often, being more aware of his presence throughout the day. I'm still learning ways to strengthen my relationship with the Lord. I would reccommend setting aside some special you and God time. I think the more often you do this, it will stop becoming a habit and more of a daily need/neccessity because of His awesome power! You will naturally begin to close the doors to day-to-day human matters and concern yourself with the big picture, realizing that the daily struggles are so minuscule compared to what God has in store for you!
God Bless,
Hodie
Hi Jennifer, I agree with Char, we need to spend time with Him, soak in His presence, to be able to do that, what I do is I lock my room, read my Bible, pray to God, ask God to speak with me..I listen to some praise/worship songs and praise God with my lips, etc. actually you can be who you are with God, you got to be honest and you can ask for His presence as long as you want. Jesus will be there with you sister, hold on to Him, He's always with us...
Just remember, when you can't see the way, when you don't understand, God is too wise to be mistaken, just TRUST HIS HEART. I hope this helps sis..-Love, Ella
