The chronological order of the major eschatological (future) events are as fallow for most Christians, but not all Christians agree on these issues. These are secondary issues and no one should divide over them.
1. Tribulation period - the rise of the Antichrist (7 years). 3 1/2 years of peace and then tribulation as the earth has never seen, the great tribulation.
2. For some Christians the Rapture happens, where the dead in Christ rise first. The old body is resurrected and reunited with the Spirit and in a flash we are given a glorified body which we will abide in for as long as God wants it that way (4ever), before the tribulation, for others mid ways through the tribulation, others belief is previous to the wrath of God being pour out upon the earth and yet others believe it will be at the second coming.
3. Armageddon - Christ comes back with the church as King to set up His kingdom.
4. The millennium reign
5. Satan is let lose one last time after the millennium and hell and all those that follow him will be thrown into the lake of fire after the great white throne judgment.
And then the new Heaven and the new earth is establish.
Some believe that we will be in heaven for eternity but that is not biblical - a new heaven and a new earth will be our adobe - the saints should inherit the earth.
There are multiple ways how people see the other of the events about taking place; some even believe the rapture and the millennium are not literal events etc...
This is what I believe to be biblical, but I am still studying different views that may modify my current belief system about future events.
Just be ready. Stand In Jesus.....and whichever way the cookie crumbles, we are ready. As David say's, there are many opinions of the sequence of events. Jesus says to Abide in Him, and to preach the the gospel to 'all ends' of the earth. I know most imply this means all over the world.....but 'to all ends'....could also be construed as 'whichever way it goes'.....but the 'end' is the same.
