All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Jesus never swayed from God. Even when he was getting crucified he said "Father forgive them for the know not what they do". But I don't recall anytime that he cried.

John 11:35 KJV "Jesus wept."

I would encourage reading the whole account. It deals with Lazarus' death and resuscitation.

Lord Bless,

Thank you

Jesus Weeps over Jerusalem

41 And when he drew near and saw the city, he wept over it, 42 saying, “Would that you, even you, had known on this day the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. 43 For the days will come upon you, when your enemies will set up a barricade around you and surround you and hem you in on every side 44 and tear you down to the ground, you and your children within you. And they will not leave one stone upon another in you, because you did not know the time of your visitation.”

Thank you

Amanda, what is your interpretation of this scripture?

Jesus is lamenting because of their unbelief and He takes no pleasure in the coming destruction, which I believe was the seige of Jerusalem in 70 AD. Jesus was about to become the perfect sacrifice, the Lamb of God, and animal sacrifice, IMO, afterwards would be an abomination to God and a clear rejection of Jesus as the Christ and Messiah. This article explains the lament, also. http://www.gotquestions.org/Jesus-wept.html

Good word,  Amanda.

JOHN 11:35 , JESUS WEPT. " THIS IS THE SHORTEST VERSE IN THE BIBLE , IT RECORDS THE ANGUISH OF

THE LORD OVER THE SORROW OF HIS FRIENDS AT THE DEATH LF LAZARUS .

LUKE 19:41. WHEN REGARDING JERUSALEM FROM AFAR, JESUS WEPT OVER KNOWING WHAT WOULD
WOULD BEFALL THR INHABITANTS OF THE CITY BECAUSE OF THEIR REJECTION OF HIM. I BELIEVE IT
IS RECORDED THAT THE LORD WEPT TWICE . BUT HOW MUCH DID HE WEEP IN PRIVATE ???!

Elaine , Great insight , how much did he cry in private?  Food for thought.

You all have helped me greatly and I appreciate your comments.
