Hi,
I understand that if we have truly repented and been born again, then we will bear fruit to confirm our conversion.
How does a person know if they are doing something good (like pass up an easy opportunity to makes lots of money in an immoral way) because they are already saved and are thus bearing fruit, or are doing good to proove to themselves that they are saved which is kind of like trusting in your own works for salvation. What's the difference?
Thanks for listening
Jenny

thanks Char, i think i didn't say it very clearly here but i reposted what i really meant in a discussion called danger of trusting in fruit
1. conviction of the Holy Spirit
2. Self righteousness
Which one is it for the person - depending on what the motive is, the condition of the heart is revealed.
