All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Why are so few churches today teaching about the baptism of the Holy Spirit?
And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Hi Mitchell, God bless you! How are you this morning?

Okay, I'm not trying to put you on the spot. Some of this is relating personal experience. I've been around churches who have made those claims...so few churches today teaching about the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Who said that? After a while, I have found it's not true. There's plenty of good churches teach about the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Are you talking about gifts, manifestations? IMO, God's very much in business. We can't all do the same thing as far as gifts and manifestations. And something to consider, I've been on the receiving end of pushing. IMO it's always been between me and God when I utilize a gift or a manifestation of Holy Spirit. I've learned to encourage others, but the moment I see they are not ready I try to back away. Why sour the experience or push and generate resistance where there was none? God is able to work with that person. He can help them when they are ready. He will send someone when the time is right.

The day of Pentecost was a glass is full kind of day. Jesus Christ had done his work and it was time for the Holy Spirit to come. We're like these vessels or glasses. Food for thought...The glass is full, but does it overflow? Acts 2:4 Do you see the overflowing glass in Acts 2:4? What are we doing to cause the glass to overflow more? Are we reading the Word, do we speak the Word? Do we reach out to others and profess our faith? If we want to see lots of baptism of the Holy Spirit, we need to reach out and win people to the Lord.

Love,

Mary
