David, there is a big difference in thinking with the heart, and thinking with the mind. Bible says, as a man thinketh in his heart, KJV; Thinking with the heart is more to do with faith, thinking with the mind is more toward a wavering faith, because it is with the mind, which can change when the circumstances change. Faith is built on the Word of God, regardless of the circumstances. or observation.
David, did you ever read “Think and grow rich” by Napoleon Hill?
He as others thrive on positive thinking, and affirmations, and confessions, I also believe in the positive thinking, but probably a little differently than most. There was, or still is a preacher, or preachers that teach it very strongly, I have always said, when I heard it, that they can make affirmations, and confessions all they want, but until they believe it, it will never come to pass. Speaking the words doesn’t bring about any results by themselves, it is when you believe it, will it produce the desired results. I still confess the Word of God, as in Ps.91, I have committed it to memory and repeat it quit often. But that is the way, and what I believe. Bible says that the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. Mat.12:4. I believe if anyone preaches, or teaches the positive thinking message, it should be taught that our confessions are based on the Word of God, and they are internalized, in other words, the Word must become a reality, not a theory, or a doctrine. The communication of our faith may become effectual, by the acknowledging of every good thing that is in you in Christ Jesus. Phm.1:6. 2Cor.4:7 says but we have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
So it is what’s in a man’s heart, that defines a man/woman.
I could go on, but must get ready for Church, God bless and have a marvelous day in the Lord. JB
