All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

I seen someone comment on FB saying we are all children of God. I tend to disagree. Can I have your thoughts?

1 John 3:10

New International Version
This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God's child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.

New Living Translation
So now we can tell who are children of God and who are children of the devil. Anyone who does not live righteously and does not love other believers does not belong to God.

English Standard Version
By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.

New American Standard Bible
By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother.

King James Bible
In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

Holman Christian Standard Bible
This is how God's children--and the Devil's children--are made evident. Whoever does not do what is right is not of God, especially the one who does not love his brother.

International Standard Version
This is how God's children and the devil's children are distinguished. No person who fails to practice righteousness and to love his brother is from God.

NET Bible
By this the children of God and the children of the devil are revealed: Everyone who does not practice righteousness--the one who does not love his fellow Christian--is not of God.

Aramaic Bible in Plain English
By this the children of God are distinguished from the children of Satan: No one who does not do righteousness, neither loves his brother, is from God.

King James 2000 Bible
In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loves not his brother.

American King James Version
In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whoever does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loves not his brother.

I JOHN CHAPTER 3

¶ Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
¶ Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10     In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
11     ¶ For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
12     Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
13     Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.
14     ¶ We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
15     Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
16     Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
17     But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
18     My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
19     And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.
20     ¶ For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.
21     Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.
22     And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
23     ¶ And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
24     And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

So i think I tend to disagree also.

Thank you for all the Scriptures Marshall

Just so happens I been studying a lot about this and had it saved. lol

Hi Brother and Sister,

Marshall, excellent research, Bro. And along with both of you, I agree that everyone is not a part of God's children.

Seems that some folks take a lot of liberties by using bits and pieces of Scripture for their recipes of life.

I think the most popular untrue thread spun by many is= all  humanity are considered as God's children. Wrong!

I'm still trying to figure what FB is.):>/

Grace and Peace.

Rich my bro,

FB is short for Facebook.

Only the Born Again are children of God. The rest are his creation, but not his children. God has love, compassion and general grace towards all his creation, but his children do get his particular love, grace and mercy.

amen David

Amen Rich

Well said David

Ah yes My Brother David,

Duh....You can see how digitality  hep I am.....I can make up words, but couldn't figure out "FB".

Do I have to tell you that I don't do FB? Or twittle, for that matter.........

Thanks for the help, man.

And Miss Tammy, thank you so much for your kind words.............

The Brothers and Sisters are so great at this site. Amen.

Twittle?  Don't tell me they have a new one out!  Aye aye aye.  There were so many that at one time they actually considered a merger.  You can read about it at:  http://www.youtwitface.com/.

For me the answer is an un-equivocal yes! We are all created in the image of God, we are all at our core, His. We've gone off and done our own thing and either forgotten or chosen to ignore it but we are all Gods children. The Bible doesn't talk about being adopted by God or being fostered by him, we are His

Eph 1:4-7 NIV84  For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love  (5)  he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will-- (6)  to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.  (7)  In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace

Joh 1:12-13 NIV84  Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God-- (13)  children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.

Joh 8:47 NIV84  He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God."
