I am new around here so I am not sure if this has been discussed before, but posting on another subject this came to my mind..I heard many sermons on the subject before and they were pretty contradictory.
What do you think ? Why in the time of grace were they punished on the spot?
Please add the scripture backing for your belief.I also want to do a bible study on this and I like to have all the scripture references.

Percentage wise, how many truly believe as we do LT?
Based on Barna's research ... only about 16% of the nation.
Lord Bless,

I agree. The results are based on what people say they believe, whether those beliefs are convictions being lived out ... well???
Lord Bless,

Yes it is, but it does help us understand the enviroment we are in these days.

Do we dare join the congregation of the saints? Ananias was lying to God and received in himself just punishment for that lie. How do we lie to God? We lie to God by pretending that we are something that we are not. We are all wicked sinners. Some may have accomplished a temporary victory over certain sins and now claim their own righteousness. Yet, they are still full of wickedness. Our total righteousness is Jesus Christ and Him alone. Our ONLY hope for salvation is through the shed blood of Jesus. We have all had some success in our battle against sin and many failures. However, we should never take glory in ourselves for anything. All the glory goes to our God. We put ourselves in a dangerous position when we begin to parade our own glory and fail to give all glory to God our Savior Jesus Christ. There were a couple of well-to-do men in that congregation. One went on to become an apostle while the other died under the judgment of God for failing to give all glory to God and taking some to himself.
There are many things in this world that we need to abandon. Yet, we must always remember that our salvation has come because Jesus obeyed perfectly, something that none of us will be ever able to do. Yes, Emanuela, we must pray for one another. We, like Lot, abhor this evil in our world. Yet, our only hope is that our Lord will deliver us from this evil. Whatever we do, let us do in the name of the Lord. If we accomplish something for Him, let it be completely unto His glory for it is only by His grace that we have done anything worthwhile. Ananias is a testimony to us all of the power of God's grace and the weakness of man. But for the grace of God, there am I. He saved me by His grace unto good works which can only be accomplished by His grace. We are saved completely by His grace and have done nothing whatsoever to earn any portion of that.
I agree with everything you said ..We are all nothing without Him. Everything we will ever do is by His grace, love, the power comes from Him, all because of Him . The good deeds that we do ( apart from the fact that they are like filthy rags) are not ours to begin with so we can't take any credit for it.. it is our duty because he's the Master. Jesus said this in
Luke17:10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.
Amen, amen. Yet, He became the Servant and we became the benefactors. He has shown Himself to be great among those who love Him and are called by His name.
Lk 12:37 It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. I tell you the truth, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them. NIV
What can we say? He is the Great One!
Speaking of His coming .. How should He Find us...
2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
2Pe 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
2Pe 3:11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
2Pe 3:12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
2Pe 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
2Pe 3:14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
We are all to serve each other in love and always be in peace... I know I am not blameless, but the inward spiritual beeing wants to be and through the blood of the Lamb the red ribbon always turns white ,
Blessings and a great day to everybody!! I have a school conference to go to :-)
Emanuela,
What kind of school conference did you have to go to? Are you a teacher or parent attending a parent/teacher conference. I have done hundreds of school conferences. I was just curious what you might be speaking about.
Roy
No Roy..don't worry I am not teaching anybody about keeping the feasts:-) I hope you don't mind a little humor.. I feel quite humorous today.. To the glory of God and by His Grace today was a great day for me.. and it was a parent/teacher conference, but very important to me since my kids are the biggest blessings in my life. I also got good news as they are on their best behavior, Thank God for that
God bless you!!
