All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Can someone show me where in the Bible it says that you go to Hell if you commit suicide ? I know Someone that has done this ( Long story, to sad to tell now ).. but I Just cry and cry .. my church members are to close to me and tell me not to worry about it .. but alas .. I do .. I wont go into great details .. but he knew and I believe ..he loved God, Can't say if he was Baptised or completely gave his life to God, he had a painful life ( mentally and physically)
He never complained ( to me anyhow) about his conditions, always said .. " it's ok .. this is how God made me .. others have it worse"
Then Friday Night .. I got the call .......

This is from Emmanuel Charan. I am the son of Rev. Yoel Charan.

First and foremost, the Bible says clearly that Jesus Christ is the ONLY WAY to heaven. Without Jesus Christ it is impossible to reach heaven. John 14:6, Nobody dared to say that "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life" only Jesus Christ had spoken this with authority and Jesus is the only way to heaven. Jesus is ready to give salvation from sin to anyone and the gift of eternal life (Romans 6:23). Only thing is that He does not force anyone to accept Him but He has given a free will to everyone to either to accept Him or reject Him. Those who are in Christ have joy and peace everlasting in this life and in the life to come, so that is why a believer in Christ will never commit suicide.

One tremendous example is given in the Bible about suicide. Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus Christ is the best example of suicide of how it happens because Judas Iscariot committed suicide after betraying Jesus and after Judas was not happy about what he did. Let's first see how he betrayed Jesus. The Bible says in John 13:27 that when Jesus Christ was betrayed by Judas Iscariot, the Satan entered in him. So, here we see that Judas was possessed by Satan completely. The satan then directed Judas to betray Jesus, that is to commit a sin that will depress Judas mentally afterwards so that he may commit suicide. After Judas had betrayed Jesus then the Satan in Judas made him mentally unhappy about what he did so that Judas may regret what he has done and then Satan in Judas led him to commit suicide, Matthew 27:5.
so, from this example, the Bible clearly says that those who are controlled by Satan completely commits suicide. So, it is impossible for them to go to Heaven. Because only those, whose life is controlled by Jesus Christ and WHO ARE IN Jesus Christ can reach Heaven (Romans 8:1).

Also, one needs to know that Jesus is the only way to go Heaven. If someone lives a good life and honest life and luxirious life and die in the old age and if He has not accepted Jesus Christ Christ then he also will not go to Heaven because all the good work are nothing in front of God. They are like filthy rags in front of the most Holy and Righteous God (Isaiah 64:6). All have commited sinned in the eyes of God because God has never sinned and can never sin. So, all the good work that a man does is nothing in front of God and man has sinned against God and the man needs salvation badly and this can be only possible through the Blood of Jesus Christ which has the power to wash away the sins of man and by believing on Lord Jesus Christ that He died on the cross and was resurrected for our sins so that we may have eternal life (heaven) and by obeying the Word of God. Jesus wants to live in our hearts as soon as we confess our sins in front of Him in our private prayers and repent of sins so that Jesus who is the living Son of God may wash our sins through His powerful blood, then Jesus makes us holy and He comes into our Heart. That is why the Bible says in many places in the New testament that those WHO ARE IN JESUS Christ. One such verse is Romans 8:1 which says that those who are IN JESUS CHRIST will not be condemned in hell. So, imagine if Jesus Christ is in our hearts and in our life then can we have sorrows. Not at all. There will be no sorrows and all our tears, worries and anxiety will disappear once we are IN JESUS CHRIST in whatever situation we live even in persecution. We will have Joy everlasting and everlasting peace in our heart which cannot be purchased through money but it is a gift from God through believing in Jesus Christ and obeying the Word of God.

So, do not worry about the one who has commited suicide but worry about yourself that whether you have accepted Jesus Christ in your heart with a true heart or not. If yes, praise God. If not then accept the Lord Jesus Christ today itself. Lord Jesus Christ has the power to change your heart. Then after accepting, spread the light of the Lord Jesus Christ to others who are in darkness and thinking to commit suicide so that they may be saved from commiting suicide and ultimately saved from going to hell.

I thank you for your response, however I'm not sure I agree with the part ...If were completely controlled by Jesus we would never commit suicide... not sayin he went to heaven for it .. but we're all sinners, A sin is a sin, and if we were completely controlled by Jesus .. then we wouldnt have any sins in our lifes at all. Why would there be any need for grace ??
I agree with what "Unnamedfornow" said above. The key to understanding this is to understand the provision of salvation. If salvation is a free gift by grace, which the Bible teaches that it is, then it cannot be obtained by a work of man. It also is not maintained by the work of man, but rather by the grace of God. The Holy Spirit begins to work in us to bring about a change that is a life long journey. The change is in the mind and power over the flesh. The Spirit is change fully at salvation. The war we experience in life, including trials and tribulations are hard. For some they become almost unbearable.

If your friend came to Jesus through grace and accepted the free gift he is saved. Once he was saved he was marked by the deposit of the Holy Spirit and his salvation was maintaned by the same grace that gave him salvation. My heart goes out to you in this difficult time when many questions will arise, and most certainly the question "Why?"

Remember this simple statement, "Saved by grace - maintained by grace." Suicide is a work.

Hope this helps and praing for you.
Thank you Lt, I havent found my answer, But he has givin me many verses to help with the " why " question... for if we cant understand the ways of the earth on which we live on everyday .. how then can we begin to understand the workings of Heaven. Thank you for your Prayers
Oh .. I do know that he Loved God ( or so he often stated) he's told me many times not to worry about him , that it was in Gods hands and others had it worse, often talked about God and was saddened when he was unable to go to church, but noone can tell me if he was actaully saved, baptised or He only talked of it to calm my worry's... I ask all of you, please let this be a lesson to all .. if you do not know if a loved one is saved .. please make it a point to find out, never assume, it leaves so many unanswered questions .. not to mention the feeling of regret. Love n' Prayers to all
Diana,

Unfortunately "Unnamedfornow" has left AllAboutGod and therefore his reply is gone, the one I referred to.

The bottom line is that the act of suicide, as horrible as it is, cannot cost one their salvation. For it is not by works that it is gained, nor can it be lost by works. The key is, as you mentioned, relates to if one is saved or not. I am saddedmed to know that you were not sure about your friend's salvation. I appreciate your encouragement to us to make sure, as best we can, regarding the salvation of the one's we know.

Still praying for you,
LT
I have a friend of mine for many years who from her life style and from every aspect of her life was a Christian. She committed suicide leaving her husband and everyone who knew her in a state of shock. I personally believe she was mentally ill and due to the illness committed suicide. She might have had serious depression and never got help. This is something I have to leave it in the hands of the Lord and trust him with.
I do not think that when a person is mentally ill who has been born again will go to Hell if they commit suicide. Only one thing will keep people out of Heaven and that is rejecting Jesus and the salvation he has brought to us.
Hey diana,
This is a tough subject to be sure. The thing that comes to mind when thinking about this issue is that we never really know the state of a person's relationship with Christ when they commit this act. Some might say....."The person couldn't have known Christ if they took thier own life". Others might argue as some have said here, "Satan can cause even a true christian to commit hienous acts". Although we can generally tell those who follow Christ by the "fruits" of thier actions, there are those who can probably go through life "appearing" to be true christians, and in fact may not have a true relationship with Christ. Not saying that your friend didn't know Christ. The point I'm making is that God desires that each of us comes to know Jesus, and have a personal relationship with Him. And God has commanded us to preach the gospel of Christ to others so that they may come to salvation as well. But, Just as we can't control whether others will accept Christ as thier savior, we can't control the destiny of where they will go after they die. This is based upon their personal relationship with Christ.
One of the hardest things about being a christian is knowing that some of the ones we love, (family, friends, etc.) may go to hell if they don't repent and accept Christ as their savior !! Of course we know that this will indeed be the case come judgement day. We will see loved ones, friends, and maybe even family members who will be told to depart from the Lord. This vision should make us more dilligent in spreading God's Word to our loved ones and those around us.
What I'm basically saying is that ultimately, it is God who will judge these individuals because only He can see the true nature of their hearts and He knows who was in Christ. We humans can speculate all we want, but we really don't know.
I'm really sorry that this person killed themselves diana. They obviously meant alot to you as it saddens you when you think about it. I pray that God gives you peace about this issue. And I hope that those who are in deep depression about life will let God work in thier hearts to restore to them a love for life and hope.
2 Ti.2:23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. 24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

2TI 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. 9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was. 10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, 11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. 12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. 14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

2TI 4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. 6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
Remainhopeful,

I checked out the site that you mentioned in your post. He doesn't have a statement of faith so it is hard to understand where he is coming from. He is listing Bible verses, but taking them out of context. I did notice on one of his articles that he takes some stuff out of Jehovah Witness text, which is a cult. So that is scary to me that he would expose other people to lies. In 1 Peter 2, warns us against false teachers.

Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." The Bible is very clear that Jesus is the only way that a person will be saved, I can give you other Bible verses if you would like them. It is foolish to reject any part of the Bible. God would not have had to send Jesus to die for us, if we could obtain salvation any way we chose. It was his greatest sacrafice. Jesus did give everyone the opportunity, but it is our personal choice to accept his free gift. God is not going to force us to believe. Once you die, their are no second chances, like many cults would like us to believe. Many cults use scripture, so they have some sort of a foundation. So just be watchful, and don't take someone else's word for it, especially when it goes against the Bible. Do your own research, even though it seems like they have done theirs.
When I was younger I went from Loving God to a .. well a distant less loving ( on my part) relationship .. why ?? why did he let me go thru so many hardships, face many deaths and let the wicked prevail by trampling the humble, I can now say that I thank him daily for my life... All of it .. starting anew in a more mature age .. he's aloud me to learn from Him and His Word, not by traditions past down by those that learned from other tradions. I'm so excited to start reading and praying over all the verses everyone has given to me, I'm not going to pretend I'm going to understand each and every one of them, But I am sure God is going to show me alot, and it will be a great blessing to someone thats going to need the same verses... ty for your thoughts
